The Reddit story

Reddit runs a community platform funded mainly by advertising and also by licensing conversations to AI companies, with growth depending on whether search and translation can build daily habits and raise revenue per user.

The story in brief

  • Advertising drives growth. In the quarter to June 2026, advertising revenue rose 64% to $762 million, accounting for 95% of total revenue.
  • International momentum broadens. In the quarter to June 2026, international revenue rose 84% to $167 million, while global average revenue per unique increased 36% to $6.18.
  • Cash funds repurchases. Reddit generated $261 million of free cash flow and repurchased 1.5 million shares for $235 million in the quarter to June 2026.

What drives the business

  • Reddit's foundation is over 100,000 active communities whose users create conversations and whose volunteer moderators help maintain them, giving advertisers audiences organized around interests and product recommendations.
  • Its advertising strategy combines contextual placement, automated bidding and products such as Dynamic Product Ads, with advertising contributing $762 million of the $805 million revenue in the quarter to June 2026.
  • Reddit is integrating Reddit Answers into search and expanding machine translation, which was live in 35 languages at December 2025, to attract international users and turn occasional visits into daily use.
  • In the quarter to June 2026, daily active uniques grew 18% to 130.3 million and weekly active uniques increased 24% to 514.6 million, expanding the audience Reddit can monetize.
  • Licensing conversations gives Reddit another revenue source alongside advertising, although the broader Other Revenue line was much smaller at $43 million in the quarter to June 2026.

What the price assumes

At $143.08 per share, the reverse DCF assumes free cash flow after stock pay grows 16.2% a year for ten years, using a 10.2% discount rate.

Reddit delivered 989.2% growth in that measure over the last twelve months, while the TenQ check sets a 496.6% bar by slowing that record halfway toward 4%.

The assumed growth falls below that check's bar, but the comparison rests on an exceptionally rapid cash growth record and under three years of cash flow history.

What could change the story

  • Advertising remains the dominant revenue source, making Reddit dependent on demonstrating advertiser returns while competing with Google, Meta and other platforms for spending and attention.
  • Contracted licensing revenue not yet recognized fell to $92 million at June 2026 from $188 million at March 2024, leaving the replenishment of licensing commitments an open question.
  • Stock pay of $338 million over the last twelve months is material alongside $1.0 billion of free cash flow, making cash generation after stock pay and dilution important distinctions from headline cash flow.
  • The TenQ shareholder returns checks report no repurchases, but the quarter to June 2026 release records $235 million of repurchases, so those checks do not reflect the latest reported activity.

What to watch next

  • For the third quarter of 2026, Reddit estimates revenue of $860 million to $870 million and adjusted EBITDA of $385 million to $395 million.
  • Daily and weekly audience growth, alongside average revenue per unique, will show whether search and international expansion are producing both more frequent visits and stronger monetization.
  • New licensing commitments will show whether Reddit replenishes contracted revenue as existing commitments are recognized.
  • Further repurchases, stock pay and fully diluted shares will clarify the effect on owners, after fully diluted shares reached 207.0 million at June 2026, up 0.2% from the prior year.
