The AT&T story
What drives AT&T, what its price assumes and what could change the story, written from its own filings.
- Connections are growing. In the quarter to September 2026, AT&T added 769,000 advanced internet connections and 379,000 postpaid phone customers as Advanced Connectivity service revenue grew 6.1%.
- Copper costs linger. AT&T expects Legacy EBITDA to turn negative after 2027 until it substantially eliminates the direct costs of operating its copper network.
- Cash has competing uses. AT&T generated $5.0 billion of company-defined free cash flow and returned approximately $4.8 billion to shareholders in the quarter to September 2026, while total debt reached $159.6 billion.
