The ConocoPhillips story
What drives ConocoPhillips, what its price assumes and what could change the story, written from its own filings.
- Prices carried earnings. In the quarter to June 2026, earnings rose to $3.9 billion as realized prices increased 36%, despite lower production.
- Cash covered distributions. Operating activities generated $7.4 billion in the quarter to June 2026, funding $3.0 billion of capital expenditures and investments alongside $3.0 billion of shareholder distributions.
- The portfolio keeps changing. By its August 2026 release, ConocoPhillips had completed noncore asset dispositions in July, signed agreements for Iraq and Syria, and expanded LNG offtake to 12 MTPA.
