The General Motors story
What drives General Motors, what its price assumes and what could change the story, written from its own filings.
- North America carries GM. In the quarter to September 2026, North America’s adjusted EBIT increased 43.4% while International, China joint venture income and GM Financial earnings weakened.
- Cash expectations rose. GM raised its full-year 2026 adjusted automotive free cash flow guidance to $11.5 billion to $12.5 billion while leaving planned capital expenditures unchanged.
- Repurchases enter another phase. After completing its $6.0 billion program, GM approved a new $20.0 billion authorization with no expiration date and discretion to suspend it.
