The HP story
What drives HP, what its price assumes and what could change the story, written from its own filings.
- More revenue, fewer PCs. Personal Systems revenue rose 18% in the quarter to July 2026 despite a 16% decline in units, while its operating margin fell to 4.6%.
- Printing carries the profit. Printing generated $709 million of operating earnings in the quarter to July 2026, more than Personal Systems, despite bringing in much less revenue.
- Cash needs context. HP generated $1.6 billion of free cash flow in the quarter to July 2026, with rising accounts payable helping fund increases in inventory and receivables.
